Matthew 16:25-27. v 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (NKJV)
To go up, go down
To win, lose
To get, give
To have a following, be a follower
To be forgiven, forgive
To influence, listen
To fly, kneel
To live, die…
Stop fighting, stop making plans about how to get on top, how to get justice and how to get even, stop scheming. When you submit your life and every area of your life to God, you will get wisdom and understanding for each situation and you will start to represent the Kingdom of God in a real way. Life will begin to make sense after all.
When you surrender your life to God and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, God the Father accepts you unreservedly and you become his child. No if’s or but’s. There is nothing you can do to deserve or earn salvation, nothing you do can add to your salvation, it is an act of faith on your side and an act of grace on God’s side. Actually, even the faith is a gift from Him.
However, once saved, in order to grow into maturity in Christ, you need to renew your mind and get rid of all the lies the enemy has fed you over the years. Lies about who you are, about who God is, about your destiny and purpose and about God’s plan. Our minds are filled with thoughts that are destructive and meaningless, thoughts that obstruct our destiny in God, and the only way to get rid of them is to wash your mind with the truth of the word of God, the Bible.
As you read and understand His word, it reveals the truth of who God is, what His character is like and what He dreams about you. You begin to understand that you have a purpose after all, that you actually matter and that you have limited time here on earth to do what you have been created to do. Then each day has meaning, and an urgency takes hold of you to do everything in your power to advance His Kingdom and destroy the kingdom of Satan who is the father of lies and the one who wants to destroy you. As you start exposing Satan’s lies in your life, truth sets you free and the joy of the Lord becomes your strength.
Please note, all of this doesn’t happen in the second you give your life to Christ, you have a responsibility to make this happen. The Bible is clear in its’ instructions:
But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Make an active effort to discern God’s way and to follow that. You will reap the reward and enjoy meaning in life.
