When there is no one to impress, no one to blame, no one with whom to compare yourself, who are you?
When you will face God you are going to be completely alone. You will stand before Him 100% accountable for every word that came out of your mouth, every action you ever did, every thought that crossed your mind, every opportunity you took, or missed. There will be no one to blame, no one to carry your guilt, no one to stand in your place. Only you.
You are entirely responsible for your choices, your world-view, your life, your thought patterns, your habits, your relationships, your successes and your failures.
Sure, life has an impact on you, life isn’t fair and life isn’t easy. Yet, at the end of the day the question remains: who are you when you are alone?
Sometimes it’s easier to fool ourselves into thinking that we are better than we are when we are alone, as we blame the actions of others for our reactions. The fact is, when the lemon is squeezed, it produces simply what it inside of it.
Attempting to define yourself apart from the one who designed you, is futile. It will result in seeking identity in a countless number of ways which will all inevitably fail to satisfy the gnawing hunger for purpose and meaning in your life.
True identity is found in your Creator. Aligning yourself with His dreams over you and his destiny for your life.
Jer 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
